God Heals
Author: Lyndon C. Weberg (Arizona, US)
Years ago I was called to return to hospital to receive a second kidney transplant. I had been on kidney dialysis for two long stretches of time and had received my brother’s kidney a year earlier. I had his kidney for a short time, and then my body rejected it and it had to be removed. I lost part of my hearing from the rejection process. Then I went back on dialysis.
A few weeks later I received a second kidney. It was a kidney from a man who was killed in a midwestern city. He had a card in his wallet saying that his body could be used for medical purposes if he died.
I have had that transplanted kidney for almost 35 years, and I have been healthy the entire time. I am thankful for the transplant and for the donor who gave me many more years of a happy life because of his willingness to carry a donor card in his wallet. I believe that God has healed me and every day I give thanks. Now I go to the dialysis units in my city to offer hope and encouragement to those having treatment.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for calling us to serve you every day in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
