Only weeks after arriving in England to work, my wife and I set out to drive across London. Struggling to keep to the correct lane, we sud- denly found ourselves on a very large roundabout with several lanes of traffic. Signs confused us and we could not identify the road for our destination. Changing lanes seemed fraught with danger. We decided to stay in our lane and made a complete circuit. On the second time around, the signs began to make sense and we identified our exit as well as how to change lanes. Soon we were safely on our way.
Often, grief, setbacks or radically changed circumstances leave us uncertain and confused. We circle – in a crisis of indecision and some- times of faith. We question which way will lead us onward and upward. The first crucial step is to believe that there is a way and then, in faith and prayer, to see it.
Christians know that Christ is the way. When we look to him and see that he responded to anger with love; accepted those rejecting him; demonstrated loyalty, strength and gentleness; and lived by faith in his heavenly Father, we can follow him as the way for all of
us.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, help us to seek your way every day. Amen
