Don't give up

Because my husband works in another city, I have the responsibility of taking care of our two teenage sons and my elderly mother-in-law. Sometimes my life gets stressful as I try to manage everything alone.

Recently, I was driving my family to worship on Sunday morning. I wanted to reach the church at least 20 minutes before the service began because I was helping to lead the worship. Halfway through our journey, the car had a flat tyre. There was hardly any time to replace it, so my only option was to park the car and to try to contact another church member to say that I would not make it to the service on time.

As I stood there with my family, a car stopped near us. What a surprise! It was a member of our church driving by. She was alone so we could all fit in her car. As I helped to lead the worship that morning, I was overwhelmed with gratitude to God for being mindful of our needs. When difficult situations leave us desperate and ready to give up, God is still working! He knows our needs and will surely respond to our prayers for help.

Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your unending love. In times of distress and weakness, strengthen and renew us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

BSL devotions is such a fantastic resource, thank you so much for starting it up and developing the site. I am a Christian hearing person who works with deaf people and have loved the opportunity to develop my understanding of and use of christian signs through the videos. It would be great to know who all the sign interpreters are as well as those who write the devotional content. Perhaps as the website grows in the future, UK deaf and hearing Christians can contribute to the devotion content. Many thanks and blessings. Please keep the site going! HJ
