Spiritually Mature

Bible Reading: Hebrews 5:11-14

When we become Christians, we are like babies. Babies need to eat every day so that they can grow. In the same way, Christians need to be fed from God’s Word, the Bible, every day.

It is sad that many Christians stop growing. They never become spiritually mature. Some of these people think that they have learned all they need to learn. So, they stop reading the Bible. Or they just decide that it is too hard to serve God.

In our Bible Reading today, the writer encourages Christians to study God’s Word. Verse 14 says, “But solid food is for people who have stopped being like babies. It is for people who are grown-up in their spirits. Those people have taught themselves to know the difference between good and evil.”
Are you still a baby in Christ? If you are, start studying the Bible today.

Humbly obey God so that you can grow into a mature Christian.—RK*

1 Peter 2:2b “Be hungry for the pure milk (teaching) that feeds your spirit. By drinking that you can grow up and be saved.”

PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your Word and for Your Son, Jesus. In His name. Amen.
