When he moved to work in a different city, my son telephoned me to say that he couldn’t find a church where he felt comfortable. I realised that he was looking for a church of our denomination, and I explained to him about the living Church of Jesus Christ. I referred him to 1 Corinthians 12:12–27, in which Paul writes about the many parts of the one body of Christ. I encouraged him to read this passage and to worship and enjoy fellowship with others who are part of Christ’s body. I reminded him to appreciate the differences among believers in Christ.

Christ is one and there is only one living Church. This living Church of Christ is not about buildings or denominations; rather, it is about fellowship in Jesus’ name—‘in spirit and in truth’ (John 4:24, KJV).

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, we pray for the unity of your Church. Great Redeemer, unite us in your body. Amen
