Summertime (3)

Bible Reading: Genesis 8:15-22

Summers in other countries are usually very hot. The people who live in these countries, most didn’t have air conditioners. They just accepted the heat as part of summer weather.

They knew that hot weather would come in the summer. They also knew that in September the leaves would change colours and cooler temperatures would arrive. People still live in these hot countries. The seasons come and go, just as they always did for ages. God’s plan for the earth still goes on every day.

Our Bible Reading tells us about Noah. God saved Noah and his family from the flood. When they came out of the boat, Noah built an altar and made a sacrifice to God. Then God made a promise to Noah. Verse 22 says, “As long as the earth continues, there will always be a time for planting and a time for harvest. There will always be cold and hot, summer and winter, day and night on earth.”

God keeps His promises. We can always depend on Him and His word. Praise God for His faithfulness! —JK

Deuteronomy 7:9a “So remember the Lord your God is the only God, and you can trust him! He keeps his agreement.”

PRAYER: God, thank You for always keeping Your promises. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Just wanted to say thank you for making BSL daily devotions available. I am hearing and often sign at church for d/Deaf friends. I am finding this resource very useful in helping me improve my signing skills as well as focussing on God every day, bless you. CR
